New CGA Series from TDK provides comprehensive range of automotive-rated ceramic capacitors
Mar 23rd, 2009
Designers of vehicle electronics systems and other applications with extended temperature requirements can now access an extended range of automotive-rated ceramic capacitors with the launch of the CGA Series from TDK Corporation.
The move is a response to demand from the automotive industry for products that meet tough quality specifications for vehicles. All TDK’s automotive-rated ceramic capacitors will carry unique part numbers with the CGA prefix.
TDK classifies its automotive-grade ceramic capacitors into two groups depending on their temperature rating: devices with the X7R nomenclature are rated for use from -55°C to +125°C. X8R devices can be used in temperatures from -55°C to +150°C. All devices offer a stable temperature characteristic of capacitance, with a mere ±15% change in capacitance over the operating temperature range.
The CGA Series of ceramic capacitors ranges from small form-factor 0402 (1,0 x 0.5mm) devices up to 1210 k-size products. Devices are available with capacitances ranging from 100pF.
TDK capacitors are precisely manufactured to extremely tight tolerances. TDK products made in advanced manufacturing facilities with the use of high-quality materials offer electronics equipment manufacturers very predictable performance in a wide range of applications.
All devices in the CGA Series are available now in production volumes. More information about CGA Series devices can be found at www.tdk-components.eu.
