TDK Corporation expresses its heartfelt sympathy to the people and the community affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
The following is the status of the TDK Group sites in Tohoku and Kanto regions as of April 14.
The last report (10th) highlighted that Kitaibaraki Plant, resumed operation for about 50%. This is to report that 100% operation is expected in early May.
The impact of the earthquake that occurred off the pacific coast of Miyagi on April 7, a major aftershock, was found to be minimal and requires no further mention.
Besides, some production of some products may be affected by the supply chain of materials.

Based on Government’s announcement that rolling blackouts will not take place any more in principle, TDK has updated the information on its business sites.
The operation of the only Kitaibaraki Plant, resumed for about 50%. The status of the rest will become clear next week.

It is reported that there has been no personnel injured in the areas hit by the earthquake, and some production lines have been stopped due to the blackout.
